“The run of river market tends to serve remote communities and the urban environment directly given the locations of towns and cities on estuaries and rivers”
The ability to easily deploy Subhub platforms and its flow acceleration make it suitable for “run of river” applications. Typically these rely on massive earth works to dig a separate channel before piping the flow down a large gradient and into a generator station before it rejoins the main river down stream. It is similar to a more common hydro scheme but there is less civil infrastructure to hold a head of water back which has far reaching social and environmental issues.
Subhub enables the civil infrastructure to be easily floated into position and submerged to the river bed to enhance the natural flow of the river.
