Naval Architecture

“QED Naval have the skills, resources and tools to complete the design and naval architecture requirements to Class rules. We can take conceptual GA’s to plan approval drawings for new builds or for vessel re-fits, managing the build through to test and commissioning.”

Delftship Professional

QED Naval use Delftship Professional to complete conceptual modelling and developing hull lines from existing ships and marine structures. We can rapidly assess the hydrostatics and required power for various hull shapes and then complete the stability analysis required to satisfy Class rules.

QED Naval’s services include:

  • Produce GAs’ that are focussed on clients requirements
  • Produce plan approval drawings and supporting calculations
  • Produce CAD hull models and plate expansions
  • Complete intact and damaged stability calculations and assess rule stability criterion
  • Manufacture scale models for tank testing using the latest rapid prototyping methods
  • Provide access to the most appropriate tank testing facilities for resistance, powering and seakeeping trials
  • Create and maintain a ship management, life cycle database to reduce operating costs and opens up possibilities of life extension
